I was travelling one day, when to girls happened to sit beside me. I overheard the conversation saying that, “We can date so many online simultaneously, who knows I date many boys simultaneously.” I felt a deep sense a rejection — not personally, but on behalf of the person that girl was engaged to. Instead of interacting with a person who was officially hers, she chose to search for a companion elsewhere online.
I wondered to myself, is this what online dating has done to us? Is it creating a new reality in which people actively avoid real-life interactions? Talking to strangers and meeting them is far more risky than meeting the people who you know personally.
Now a day, technology has advanced so much that with the help of mobile apps and online dating websites; it has given people access to more potential partners than they could meet at work or in their surroundings. Everything has its own pros and cons.
Online dating is referred to as modern romance as it makes it easier for someone to judge a person in detail and whatever she/he wants in specific. It also helps the people who use the apps by allowing them to enjoy a pattern of regular hookups that don’t have to lead to relationships. Some online relationships have latest for life, no doubt. But I personally feel online dating is far more risky as the person who you chat with is not live or maybe the person has created a fake account does to while away his time.
In reality, people have a hard time in finding the partner of their choice in reality, day to day. A male and female protagonist may tend to be united till the end is the meet online.
